Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a broad overview of dyslexia that will be useful for parents and educators at all grade levels. We will discuss what dyslexia is and what it is NOT, as well as how dyslexia impacts students in the classroom. Attendees will be able to participate in a simulation designed to help people gain a better understanding of and empathy for those children and adults who struggle with dyslexia. Parents, teachers, and other relatives or caregivers of dyslexics are all encouraged to attend for this very eye-opening simulation–especially if they are not dyslexic themselves–to get a sense of the challenges dyslexics face, particularly in the school setting. Struggles aren’t limited to learning to read and some of the most persistent struggles may surprise you. Educators, parents, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about dyslexia is welcome to attend.
