Event Details
Friday, February 2, is Groundhog Day in the USA and Canada. Everyone watches the groundhog emerge from its burrow hoping that it will predict the coming of the spring. According to folklore, if the groundhog emerges from its burrow on a cloudy day, the spring will come early. It's also the first day of our Winter Reading Program!
While waiting for spring, go on a reading adventure. The more you read, the better your chances to win! We will have a teen grand prize winner and two adult grand prize winners. All participants who read for 20 days can choose between a coffee/tea/hot chocolate or a candy bar. Extra entries to win when you read a non-fiction book.
This year, the Winter Reading Program will take place from February 2 - March 15. Sign up to participate on Beanstack, or pick up a paper log at the library! The program is open to everyone: birth - adults. If you need help setting up your Beanstack account, please call the library at (712) 722-2138. Happy reading!
