Program Description

Event Details

"Why Garden?" Presenter John Buntsma, Master Gardener Coordinator from IA State Extension and Outreach, will be enlarging our perspective on the value of gardening. We all know the value of the produce and the taste benefits of home-grown vegetables. He will share the physical, mental and spiritual therapeutic values involved in gardening. An elderly person may be physically limited but there are things they can do - and just getting outdoors is a plus. He will also touch on the environmental benefits of home gardening. Let's have a dialogue about gardening!

All of us have much we can learn from and about gardening. We hope to see you at this event that helps get us ready for our Summer Reading Program's theme: Plant a Seed: READ!

Registration is suggested but not required.
