National Library Week Event: Sioux Center Public Library welcomes award-winning Iowa author Jocelyn Green! Join us for some dessert and presentation from Jocelyn on Historical Fiction: Bringing the Story in Hi{story} to Life.
How do we transform the dusty textbook past into a living, breathing world that lifts right off the page? After identifying the top reasons people read historical fiction, we’ll explore how to satisfy their hopes for an immersive setting, historical integrity, nuanced characters, and timeless truths. With strategies, examples, and a few cautions, you’ll come away with new ways to approach and appreciate historical fiction. This session will appeal to both readers and writers.
Jocelyn Green inspires faith and courage as the award-winning and bestselling author of numerous fiction and nonfiction books, including The Mark of the King; Wedded to War; and The 5 Love Languages Military Edition, which she coauthored with bestselling author Dr. Gary Chapman. Find her latest releases here at the library: The Metropolitan Affair and The Hudson Collection!
If you have a copy of her books, feel free to bring to have her sign after the presentation!
