Are you intimidated by the weight room? Don’t know where to start when it comes to strength training? This female-focused class will introduce you to strength-training and weight-lifting techniques and concepts including:

  • How our posture tendencies affect our daily living and lifting habits
  • How to find your stacked position for optimal movement and breathing
  • Why strength training is vital to women’s health.
  • Hands on form work/assessment of basic weight lifting patterns
    • Squat
    • Hinge
    • Overhead Press
    • Pull
    • Plank
    • Single Leg
    • Lying Core
  • Mindset adjustments to feeling more confident in the weight room

Register through NCC. https://nwicc.edu/events/women-weights-and-confidence/ NCC charges a $29 fee for this class. 

Ashton Koehlmoos is a personal trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and she began Resilient Mama Fitness & Lifestyle to be a place for women to fund trusted resources, information, and workouts that encompass every type of mama – even if they’re longing to hold a baby in their arms. No matter what journey you’re in, Mama, your fitness and health matter!

Ashton has been an athlete/fitness enthusiast her entire life. As a multi-sport athlete in high school, she went on to play softball at Dakota State University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science.  She completed her Master’s from the University of South Dakota in Sport Facility Management while starting her 7-year career at the Nishna Valley Family YMCA in Atlantic, IA. While there, Ashton oversaw the fitness and youth sport departments while also teaching classes, coaching programs, and serving as a personal trainer.  Ashton is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a title she has retained for 10 years.
