Program Description

Event Details

What is it like for women to move from middle age to older age here in NW Iowa? How does living in this place make the transition easier or harder? Speaker Kim Van Es will respond to the ideas in Mary Pipher’s book Women Rowing North, testing the author’s ideas in NW Iowa soil. Whereas the talk will focus on women aging, both men and women are encouraged to attend.  Masks will be required for this program.

Kim taught English for 30 years, most recently at Northwestern College. Now she is self-employed working for clients around the country through Kim’s Writing & Editing Service. She and her reader husband (Dr. Jerry Van Es) live in Sioux Center.

The Shelf Discovery book club will discuss Women Rowing North on January 16 at 10:00. All are welcome to pick up a book at the library and join the discussion.
