Program Description
Event Details
Join us at the Sioux Center Middle School's Home Ec Classroom (3101) to make an authentic Mexican meal. We'll meet you at the main entrance to direct you to the room.
Local resident, Veronica Moreno, will teach us how to make an authentic Mexican meal of chiles rellenos de queso en caldo (cheese-stuffed peppers served with a tomato-based sauce) and aguas de fresa (Mexican strawberry water). Veronica Moreno is from Guadalajara City in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. From a young age (11 years), she started cooking for her whole family. She is eager to share some of her favorite recipes with us.
After making our food, we'll sit down and enjoy eating the meal together.
This event is open to adults and their children 5th grade and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and both the child and the parent must register. Cost is $10 per person and pre-registration is required.
