Event Details

If you’ve been curious about growing flowers in your backyard this event is for you! Whether for your personal enjoyment, creating arrangements for your kitchen table, or maybe you’re growing for a specific event, Jade Moret wants to help you get started. There is a lot of information out there about growing flowers, but Jade will be talking about specifically growing in our zone, right here in Northwest Iowa. This presentation will cover the basics of seed starting, caring for plants, harvesting, and a few design tips! Jade and her crew at Holland Flower Farm are excited about a flower-filled Spring and Summer so let’s get growing!

$40 pre-registration fee includes a detailed presentation + instructions from Jade, a complimentary beverage, some beautiful flowers, and of course a fun night out with friends. This event takes place at the Crossroads Pavilion in Sheldon.

Registration deadline: Tuesday, April 26 Register through NCC website. https://nwicc.edu/events/get-growing/

Instructor Bio: Jade Moret is the owner of Holland Flower Farm in Sioux Center. Through countless hours of research, trial and error, and online courses, she’s discovered what it takes to successfully grow cut-flowers in Northwest Iowa. In the fall of 2018 Holland, Flower Farm planted their first 350 tulips bulbs and in a few weeks, they will have over 10,000 tulips blooming! Tulips are just one of over 400+ varieties of flowers grown at Holland Flower Farm. Jade is eager for Holland Flower Farm’s fourth growing season to kick off, and she hopes you will grow flowers alongside in your own backyards!
